National Eczema Society

Great Bristol Run 10th May 2026

Running for the National Eczema Society means this person is running for everyone in the UK with this profoundly difficult skin condition. For the last 50 years we have provided information and advice for families, delivered through our website, booklets, factsheets, well-attended webinars and social media. We are also the voice of this community, raising awareness of the condition and taking practical steps towards a cure and better treatments by funding research into eczema. This year we have committed £260k of new funding to research into the causes, impact and treatment of eczema.

Our website has over two million visits per year and our webinars are attended by around 200 people each time with many more viewing the webinar recordings on the charity’s You Tube channel. In the UK, eczema affects around 8 million people, including 2.6 million children. Around 1 in 5 children and 1 in 10 adults live with eczema, and for many experiencing more severe symptoms, the impact on quality of life is significant. This highlights the urgent need for more research, support, and greater public awareness.

By taking part or by sponsoring someone who is, you are helping the advance research into this debilitating disease and providing NES with the resources to continue our work in tackling the life-changing impact of this condition amongst the 1 in 8 people who have it in the UK.
