My Story

Welcome to my fundraising page!

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! My name is Sarah, and I’m a Bristol based barrister working in personal injury and clinical negligence.

I work with people who have suffered significant injuries, and I have seen the difference that Spinal Injuries Association can make to an injured person. SIA offers practical, clinical and emotional support to those who are impacted by a life changing injury. I’m raising money for them to  support the important work that they do.

This time last year I didn’t even own a pair of trainers, let alone having regular runs in the calendar! At school, I was never sporty or athletic and I used to get out of PE lessons as often as I could. However, after a difficult time in my personal life, I decided to try running. I completed the Couch to 5k programme and actually found that I enjoyed it, which was very unexpected! Since then, I have done several park runs, joined a local running club and even got my first medal in my first ever race (it was for participation but that’s besides the point!).

It’s been a real eye-opener to me to discover how much of a positive impact running has had on both my physical and mental health. So, with that in mind… I have signed up to the Great Bristol 10k Run on the 10th May, and I will be running for SIA.

Please donate if you can!
